The dial, up close

Left open,
on purpose.

Nothing on this dial is decorative only. The heart is cut open so the balance can be watched; the seconds are crowned with the knight; the numerals are applied, not printed. The same dial, held across both finishes.

01
Open heart aperture
A window at nine reveals the beating balance wheel, the one living part of the watch.
02
The knight’s second
The running seconds hand is counterweighted by a chess knight, echoed etched on the rotor.
03
Applied gold numerals
Serif Roman numerals in solid gold, set by hand over lacquer or sunray.
